Our Hinoki essential oil is made from wood sourced primarily from Nara Prefecture, a region with a long tradition of managed forestry. Forestry in Japan operates within a regulated framework that includes planned harvesting, forest regeneration, and long-term forest management. At the sawmill, the Hinoki wood is processed into sawdust for essential-oil extraction, and the remaining material is repurposed for uses such as traditional enzyme baths rather than discarded.
